Rules and Application

[One] Be Dedicated.
This should be an oxymoron, but unfortunately it needs to be said. If you are the sort of roleplayer that joins rps, makes the site, then disappears, please do not apply to the roleplay. This is an active community. It needs to be filled with dedicated members who will interact with other members. These members need to not only formulate plots with others, but be willing and dedicated to get in depth with their characters past and present actions.
[Two] Respect One Another.
This is another rule I think should be implied as a common rule, but for whatever reason, it always has to be said. We all learned the Golden Rule in kindergarten. "Treat others as you want to be treated." I'm willing to guarantee that no one wants to be treated like a steaming pile of dog crap, so let's all just try to get along. If a member of the rp isn't someone you particularly get along with, then do your best to ignore their presence and realize they are here to have a good time and enjoy themselves--the same as you, I hope. If you are, as a member, having difficulty with another member please contact your mod (myself) and I will do my best to solve the problem.
[Three] Made-Ups/Character Changes.
I will only be allowing a handful of made-ups. I would prefer that you choose from the list already provided to keep from having an overwhelming number of characters that have too many similarities. The need for certain variations between characters is crucial. I will be allowing changes in character faces to a point. I would like you to consider someone that would fit the bill, if wanting to change something about a previously made character. I will not be allowing Kristen Stewart or Taylor Swift to play a twenty-seven year old character. I would also like to keep a good range of ages open. Of course for playing ability, I've only allowed a certain age group to be played. I would also like to add that I am only allowing two characters per roleplayer--unless said rper is dedicated enough to take on three. I will not allow anyone to portray more than four characters and even three will be a stretch. And if you prefer to change minor details about a character, that really should not be a problem.
[Four] No Ratings, But...
As rpers, I think we all know to keep a bit of digression when writing. I do not believe in rating roleplays, but I also do not agree with writing pieces without taste. There is a large difference between writing something completely and utterly ridiculous and writing something that gives the reader the idea of what you are aiming for without having to go into all the details. If you feel your work might offend other roleplayers, I ask that you at least give a disclaimer or warning so other readers may have a choice in what they are reading. If you feel the narrative is rated R or potentially higher, please leave a warning. Be mindful of the eyes that grace your pages. Not all roleplayers are as open as others and some are not even of age, as of yet. I just ask that everyone be mindful of one another. If a roleplayer does not leave a warning/disclaimer and I feel there is a need to do so, I will either ask that you do so asap or you take the narrative down. Seeing as you should have read the rules, I highly doubt we should be having problems in this field.
[Five] Narratives.
I, like so many other roleplayers, do not believe in elitism. However, I do want detailed and thought out narratives written at least once every two weeks. I'm not looking for the best writers in the world. We all have different styles of writing. I'm merely looking for people that are willing to try and give the readers a clear idea of what is happening or has happened to your character. A narrative should be, at the very least, four paragraphs long. Also note that narratives come in many shapes and sizes, just as characters. Feel free to do the style that suits you and your character best at the time.
[Six] Character Boredom.
As a fellow roleplayer, I've been to the point where I just haven't a clue where to go with that character anymore. You joined a character, loved the roleplay but the character just wasn't right for you? You end up telling the mod and he/she gets upset and then you end up losing interest in the whole thing. Fear not! I am not going to be mad or upset if you tried out a character and it just wasn't how you expected it to be. Just ask to switch and I'll gladly let you do so. All I ask is that you do try the character before deciding to switch. I do not have a cut off number of times you can change characters, but if you are constantly changing there might be a problem beyond the characters you are choosing. ALSO, this rp isn't for everyone. If you find this isn't the rp for you, please return the character to me and I will understand. I would rather have a dedicated bunch of rpers than several empty sites.
[Seven] Mary-Sue/Gary-Sue and God moding
Mary-Sue -- is an unrealistic female character. Gary-Sue -- is an unrealistic male character. Yes, roleplaying is a place of creation and to let your imagination go wild, but there is a line. There always seems to be a roleplayer or two that likes to really push the envelope. I want everyone to go crazy with plots and ideas, but I don't want anything too unrealistic. CHARACTERS HAVE FLAWS. They are meant to have flaws. A character without flaws is --ironically--flawed and in fact, a Mary-Sue/Gary-Sue. No one is perfect.
Godmoding is in essence when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try. JUST DON'T DO IT. It's not realistic.
[Eight] Key To Roleplaying.
The key to roleplaying is INTERACTION! Interaction includes comments, AIM, chatzy, or any other form of communication between rpers/characters. This is a roleplay! If you want to write by yourself, write a book. Roleplay is interacting with one another. Do not wait around for others to comment you. Simply go around and ask to plot. NO MASS COMMENTS! I will ask you to review this rule if I see a mass comment. They are cold and impersonal. This is a dedicated community and there are no excuses to send mass comments. Simply take the time to interact. I will guarantee you will get more plots in the long run if you take the time to get to know each others characters..
[Nine] Shipping
PLEASE, please, please! DO NOT join if you are only looking to ship! Do not ask others to join because you "need/want" a ship. I, like so many others, am tired of seeing people automatically ship. If you are reading this, which you should, put the following in the subject line when you message your application 'Totes my goates... here we come to bite your throats'. Thank you. This roleplay has so much room to develop your characters further than just a ship. I am not saying ships aren't allowed, of course they are... though most people tend to only focus on their ship rather than focusing on plotting more than just a ship. There is more to roleplaying than 'romance'. Because I hope no one is joining just to find a ship to get into their characters... I will not put a cap on girls.Do not message me complaining about not having a ship or to anyone else because... you aren't going to find a
[Ten] The Most Important Rule of All.
HAVE FUN! Roleplaying is for fun. I know you just reviewed a bunch of rules that may seem a bit fun sucking, but rules always have to be established. It is a sad, but true fact. The rules enforced are ones to hopefully enhance everyone's roleplaying pleasure and not just your own. So please, do your best to have a good time, get into your characters, and plotting with others!.
